Expanding access
to interventional
glaucoma care
Hexiris is developing a new generation of ophthalmic devices designed to simplify glaucoma treatment and expand access to care.
Our technologies are designed to enable effective, minimally invasive glaucoma interventions across both surgical and office-based settings thereby helping ophthalmologists treat patients earlier and more efficiently.
We make Interventional Glaucoma (IG) treatment accessible to more patients worldwide.
OUR IMPACT
Making IG more accessible to Ophthalmologists
Reducing wait time
Requiring less equipment and healthcare professionals
Freeing up Operating Rooms
Lowering costs to the healthcare system
MISSION
Hexiris was founded with one mission:
to address critical unmet needs in ophthalmology.
During their humanitarian work in underserved regions, Dr. Houfar Sekhavat and Dr. Nir Shoham-Hazon, both ophthalmologists from Canada, repeatedly encountered the same challenge: effective treatments existed,
but access to them was limited.
This experience inspired the creation of Hexiris.
The company was founded with the goal of developing technologies that are not only innovative, but also practical, scalable, and accessible across diverse healthcare settings.
TECHNOLOGY
A Platform for Interventional Glaucoma
Hexiris is developing a portfolio of devices designed to expand treatment options across the glaucoma care continuum.

Office-Based Interventional Glaucoma
Three of our technologies – OBi Core, OBi Shunt, and OBi Spacer – are designed to enable glaucoma interventions in the physician’s office, with the flexibility to also be performed in the operating room.

Advanced Surgical Interventions
Hexiris is also developing surgical technologies for the operating room, designed to integrate into existing workflows and address all outflow pathways.
Device Portfolio
Hexiris is currently developing several groundbreaking devices* across its technology platform, including:
OBi™ Core is a device for minimally invasive bleb surgery (MIBS) to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients. It can be used at the slit lamp or in the operating room, expanding access beyond traditional surgery.
OBi™ Shunt is a silicone implant designed to provide sustained intraocular pressure reduction following minimally invasive bleb procedures. Delivered through an intuitive injector, it supports controlled aqueous outflow. It can be used in both office-based and operating room settings.
OBi™ Spacer is a bleb-enhancing implant designed to maintain aqueous outflow after glaucoma surgery. It helps keep the filtration pathway open while reducing the need for antifibrotic agents. The device supports more consistent outcomes and long-term surgical success.
OBi™ Gon is a minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) device for excisional goniotomy to improve conventional outflow and reduce intraocular pressure. The intuitive cutting tool enables fast, reproducible procedures.
Additional technologies are in development to build a complete platform across all outflow pathways, expanding access to interventional glaucoma care across disease stages and care settings.
*Technologies are investigational and not approved for commercial use in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.
